The Garage: A Man’s Best Friend

The Garage: A Man’s Best Friend
By Martin Stoleman

If a woman’s place is in the kitchen, what is the man’s place in the home? If a woman loves to work with her hands and create beautiful meals for her family, where does a man like to work and keep busy? For some men, it is the home office, but for most men, their place is in the garage.

A garage is a man’s treasure house. It is full of the things a man loves most. Walls are lined with row after row of tools. Most men know exactly where every tool in their garage is even if they haven’t used it for years. Men also keep shovels, lawn mowers, and a variety of other outdoor equipment for lawn maintenance and family recreation organized somehow in their garage. Most men are always looking for new and better ways to show off the prized possessions that adorn their garage walls and fill their cabinents.

Organizing A Garage

by admin in Uncategorized

Organizing A Garage
By Linden J. Walhard

No matter how organized we are in other areas of our lives, our garages seem to be the one place where disorganization rules. But this is really valuable space, and if you can organize it you will get a lot of use out to it. But it is a task that no one likes to do. Just remember that organizing your garage simply means finding a place for everything in it so you can find each thing easier and get a job done faster. That should inspire you to get started, if you know you will save time over the long run.

The first step to take is to sort all of the items in the garage and categorize them. Empty the garage out and put everything in different piles according to category. Tools separate from sporting equipment, electric tools separate from garden tools, etc. You will be amazed at how much stuff you have once you get everything out. But once you know how much you have, you will be better able to start the organization process. You will probably end up with extra space, since you may find that some things really belong in the attic, or the basement or perhaps, the garbage! tones you have everything in the right place, and keep putting them back in the right place, you will be amazed at how easy things will be.

How To Get More Garage Storage

by admin in Garage Storage Ideas

How To Get More Garage Storage
By Greg K. Hansward

It’s becoming a joke these days that a garage is used for almost anything except storing a car. Most people store their sports equipment and other large items and also use their garage as a workshop. Some have even put a home office or a gym in the garage space. If it has reached the point where you cannot fit your car in your garage, maybe you should think about putting in some shelves for additional storage.

Garage shelves can be obtained either site built or prefab. If they are site built, you will have to fit them into your existing space but you can adapt them to your needs with equipment you can find at your local home center, lumber yard or hardware store.

by admin in Uncategorized

Your Dream Garage
By Dorothy Brown

Your dream garage, what would it look like? Some people want to have theirs outfitted for the car, others dream of a really nice workshop, a laundry room, a gym, or a rehearsal studio for their own band. Other people want to use it to expand their living space and improve their lifestyle.

How much money do you have available to work with? Even if you only want to remodel, rebuild, or even reorganize a small area of your Garage, you must have a budget. It is imperative to have in mind a specific goal and a realistic and finite budget for it.

A Garage Conversion Project Starts With A Garage Conversion Plan
By Mark Donovan

A Great way to add Living Space to Your Home

A garage conversion project is a simple and great way to add 200 to 400 square feet of living space to your home. Frequently garages are converted into bedrooms, bathrooms, and family rooms. Due to the fact that a garage already consists of a foundation, four exterior walls and a roof it is relatively an inexpensive solution for adding more living space to your home, compared to building a brand new home addition.

Garage Storage Systems For The Cluttered Garage

by admin in Garage Storage Systems

Garage Storage Systems For The Cluttered Garage
By Tom Houser

Are you completely frustrated with your garage? Does your car sit in the driveway because there is no room for it because of all the clutter? Garage storage systems are the answer to your organizational nightmare.

Your first step in solving this problem is to remove everything from your garage, preferably on a nice day. Put all that clutter in the backyard or the driveway. If you are lucky, people might think you are having a yard sale and start offering you money for some of your junk! Once the garage is empty, you can give it a good cleaning including a power washer for the floor. After that job is complete, you can begin installing the garage storage systems. Any items that you do not have a use for are either donated to charity, thrown in the garbage or sold at a yard sale.

Garage Shelving Cures Messy Garage Syndrome

by admin in Garage Storage Shelves

Garage Shelving Cures Messy Garage Syndrome
By Big Dug

Messy Garage Syndrome is a little-documented illness sweeping the planet. Millions of people all over the world have been affected so far. If you are experiencing any of the following symptoms, you may well be suffering from Messy Garage Syndrome: there is no longer enough space in your garage to be able to park the car in it; you have difficulty accessing the garage because the door will no longer open properly; whenever you go in to the garage to find something it takes what seems like hours, and when you exit the garage is ten times messier than when you went in.

The causes of Messy Garage Syndrome are varied – from having kids who seem to collect junk like it is going out of fashion to your own irrational fear of throwing anything away lest it comes in useful again one day or turns out to be a valuable antique. There is also the creeping onset of that attitude which is unique to those who are lucky enough to have nice big houses with nice big garages: “Well, we paid good money for this space… we might as well use it!”

How To Tackle Organizing The Garage
By Marilyn Bohn

Garages seem to become the dumping ground for everything we want out of our homes but can’t part with so we stick it in the garage. Clutter can pile up until there is no longer room to even park the car.

Here are some simple no cost solutions to clutter clearing the garage and keeping it that way. Just like in the home everything needs a designated place and then it lives there when not in use. Designate areas or zones for all things that do belong in the garage. There are ways to organize a garage without having garage systems or expensive shelving.

How Safe Is Your Garage?

by admin in Uncategorized

Storing everything but the car in the garage is nothing new; however, since the garage door is often the largest entryway into the home, not only is a cluttered garage a safety concern, but it may be a security soft spot as well.

Get More Out Of Less With Space Saving Shelving

by admin in Garage Storage Shelves

Get More Out Of Less With Space Saving Shelving
by Ben Franklin

There’s a simple rule when it comes to storage:
No matter how big your home is, it will never be big enough to store
all your stuff. The more room you have, the more likely you are to
fill it to the brim with more and more stuff. This is where good
shelving systems can come into play to help make organizing easier
and more efficient. Whether your choice is wood, metal, wire or
another substance, shelving can make a great difference.
