This LO will be sharing a room with my husband and I. My SIL called yesterday and her husband said that if I wanted their daughters crib/dresser/change table I have to come get it Saturday or it will be going to the curb for garbage. I have no storage (a basement but it leaks we’re in the process of getting it fixed), where as they have a basement and garage that are both empty.

So my mom found this guy on a dating site. He has no job, no car, and a lazy eye. Slowly, he’s been moving in, and he emptied his entire storage unit into our house until we couldn’t park the car in the garage anymore. That was hard enough to get my head around. Well, this weekend, I find out they’re secretly engaged now! I’m reeeally not okay with this, but my mom thinks I should be. Isn’t it normal for me to be feeling horrible about this if I’ve been living with my single mom for seven years and suddenly this happens? She tells me I’m being selfish. I’m so confused

Ok, so I am going from an apartment to a house, The house I am looking at has a carport, but it is open, not a garage. I have a totaled car, the front is damaged, I was thinking about putting that in the carport so we don’t have to pay the storage fees. Is that legal in Texas? Or is that more of a city thing instead of a state? Thanks!

Ok, we’re moving. We have a cat and a dog, and will be getting another cat after it gets de-clawed. We looked at 2 places today. A house, and an apartment. The house will allow us to have the dog for 50 bucks more a month, and the cats free. The rent is 500. The apartment will allow no pets for 450. We’ve raised all 3 pets since they were babies. I like the house, even though it’s smaller. My mom likes the apartment because everything can fit in the for 100 dollars less. Either place we get, we have to mow the lawn.. Big deal. My mom says we can take the pets to the humane society and get the apartment. But the dog has an attitude and they’ll kill him there. The apartment obviously doesn’t have a basement, but the hous does, and a 2- car garage where we can store everything. If we stay at the house for a year and the dog does no dammage, it goes back down to 500. I cna’t part with my animals. I just can’t. Which do you think would be better for us? The big apartment with no pets or storage areas, or the smaller house with pet and plenty of places for junk?

We lost the use of our home to fire August 26, 2009. We were insured, All State denied our claim! They claimed we commited arson, they forced me to split up our family, they forced us into a one bedroom apartment, they black mailed us on everything by threatening us with non compliance of policy. They put us through 9 months of sheer hell begging for them to decide one way or another so we could move forward.After I finally informed them we had a public adjustor they within 36 hours denied our claim. Their abuse of us resulted in my father who has Alzheimer’s ending up in a nursing home over 500 miles away from us due to all the changes he was subjected to although they knew from day one his health was very fragile! They expected us to be able to rent a place for 4 adults my parents, my husband, myself, and our then 4 year old son, and 3 small pedigree dogs. The temporary accomodations adjustor Heather Stone told me, ” We don’t care where you go, who you live with, if you have to get seperate houses or kennel your dogs. You have to get out of the motel”. There were my elderly parents my mom was on a walker, I am totally disabled. And about 2 weeks before this my husband started passing an enormous amount of blood in his urine along with fist sized blood clots. When I took him to the ER they found a mass in his bladder. None of it mattered. He had surgery October 26, 2009, the 2 days prior to his surgery I had to move my family by myself. Mind you nothing mattered to All State I begged, I pleaded for them to give me until November 9, 2009 to be able to move into a 2 bedroom apartment. The money was there to pay for our additional living expenses! Yet we were forced to split up our family and into a one bedroom apartment. They removed everything we owned from our home, garage, and sunroom! They disposed of, stole, and had our things in an unsecure sight where even more was stolen! And from our furnished 3554 sq. ft. home we ended up with everything left in a 10′ X 30′ storage unit we have had to pay for. We are paying a mortgage payment that includes insurance payments to All State! They have renewed our policy and were paid from July 31, 2010- July 31, 2011. They get auto paid each month for car and life insurance! We are strapped no furniture no nothing in a dump because we don’t want to lose our home. Mind you all our bills were current and the reason of claim is idiotic so much so that a child can see it is nothing but a big sham to commit consumer fraud! Anyone who can help please check out Sakura Jade Esposito on Facebook. I don’t want money, I don’t want fame, I want our home fixed so we can move on! We can’t afford to fix our home, because we have to pay rent on a total dump and on storage fees and keep up all the All State policies! They have been paid every month. What happened was either a defective stove or human error on the cook stove! Please don’t keep on going! Just please imagine this your home with your family and you leave for a medical procedure and you come home thinking there was a home invasion, Instead there has been a fire. And from that moment your life turns into a horrible nightmare. The home you were preparing for a new family of adopted siblings is gone. The large family you dreamed of all your life was gone, and your husband a 30 year retired Navy Veteran is accused of causing a fire. By placing matches in a skillet of cooking oil! Only thing is the debris from above the stove is in the pan and the matches directly above the skillets in the cabinet fell at some point onto the debris. UNDERSTAND: ON TOP OF THE DEBRIS! And then they tell a company, ” Go ahead get rid of the debris and start demoing.” Only to send and adjustor to check the house progress and determine all evidence of the fire has been gutted and removed. Then turn around and the same adjustor claimed he did not give ServPro the authorization to do it. They refuse to pay them and you end up with not only a burnt home but a lien on your burnt home! Then you apply for a 2 bedroom apartment and are denied because you have a mortgage and a new lien on the home for non payment. And your credit is destroyed. How would you feel? No one seems to care to try to help us get the word out. Will you please help us? Thank you…

Okay, so I’m 12 years old, and my mom’s birthday is coming up in about a month. She says she doesn’t want ANYTHING for her birthday, but I know she wants the house CLEAN and ORGANIZED. It’s really important to her and the house is really messy! And I can clean it pretty easily but I really don’t know 1)Where to start and 2)How to organize it and decorate it. We’re on a tight budget right now because of the economy… My house is 4 stories! On the top floor is the Master bedroom and Master Bathroom, another bathroom (we only use this bathroom for getting ready,we don’t shower in that bathroom because we have to get the plumbing fixed, that might sound weird because the sink works but the shower leaks for about 4 hours after you turn it off), my sister’s bedroom, a small closet with alot of shelves, and a spare bedroom. (I was thinking of making that into my walk-in closet, because it used to be my room but i switched bedrooms, but if it can be used for another purpose then i wont). On the next floor, (the ground floor? I’m not sure but it’s the one with the front and back door) we have the living room, the dining room, and a small kitchen. The kitchen is really small and it’s really important to my mom because she loves cooking and everything so I want to make the kitchen really special. That floor only has 3 rooms because the living room is really big lol. And then the next floor has another living room which is a little bigger then the other one, (so basically, giant.) a bathroom/ laundry room, a small closet with no shelves, a guest bedroom, and the door to the garage. And in the basement (which isnt like a storage basement, it has rooms) there is a computer room, which is the size of the other living room, but it also has a walk in closet, and there’s my bedroom, and then the boiler room. Please help!
Oh and please don’t think I’m bragging about my house because I’m really not trying to! I’m trying to tell the people that are going to help me how the house is set up for help with organizing!

it’s 2 in the morning where i am right now. since i’m from a filipino family, we use the garage as a storage area. i was looking for a box of crayons and i looked at a table and saw an ant. looked all over the table, found a couple more ants. got a little paranoid, jumped onto a chair. looked around, and it turns out they found a random box of cereal. they’re all on a carpet, so it’s kinda hard to see where they’re coming from.

Voting Question: car storage in garage?

This is a trivial question but one that I have been wondering. In an attached garage where the temperature extremes may be not more than 90 and no colder than 45 is it best to leave the windows up or down? I figured with them down it allows to car to ventilate, with them up I would think any moisture or anything else would be sealed in. What do you think. The car has full leather interior that might be important. The car spends about 5 day of the week in and only out of the garage on the weekend when it is driven.
